Restoration & Extension to a single storey dwelling. Complete internal renovation, change the inner wall structure.

 

Creation of an open plan Kitchen – Living – Dining; Landscape upgrades including a timber deck and new “Vergola”.

 

The project presented twp  min construction difficulties:

- The transition between the terracotta tiles roof (existing dwelling) and the new extension which needed not to disturb the existing fabric. A shallow and wide box gutter type was suggested to resolve the drainage.

- The second difficulty was to determine the conjunction of the new roof while allowing light onto the kitchen and dining areas. Achieve by proposing a combination of skillion roof where one stretch over the other, allowing high windows.

 

The internal renovation aimed to blend the new and the old using warm materials and a combination of modern lines and shapes with some trimming and carpentry detail in keeping with the former character.
