Role of the Interior Building Designer

An interior building designer is often utilized through all parts of the construction process, including planning and design. This is the individual who works closely with the client, architect, and building inspector to ensure that the interior design of the structure in satisfactory in appearance, performance and overall function.

An interior building designer is responsible for many roles, including residential and commercial design, preparation and explanation of bid proposals, complying with building codes and regulations, and recommending both interior and exterior layouts. He or she must be knowledgeable in local building codes and inspection requirements, and must have a firm grasp of the client's vision in regard to building functionality and appearance.

 

This professional is a vital component in any architectural project and plays an important role in how well the finished space functions, how it looks, and how it meets the specific needs of the client.
