Scope

Design & Planning

The bank decided to expand into the Solomon Islands. They purchase an oceanfront lot with an existing one-level commercial building.

The primary constraint was to stage the project in a manner that the bank could first prove itself viable in this new foreign country, then operate, expand as per future market and finally develop with commercial and residential uses and extending onto the shoreline.

Due to the location of the site, fire, robbery, earthquakes and tsunamis were always present throughout the design and planning process.

The first stage, built in 2017, involved the fit-out for the starting branch of 50 people; major interior renovations and general site improvements to upgrade parking, access, security, drainage and durability.

We brought some of the Solomon Islands styles to freshen up the branch and make it more inviting to the locals while keeping the Bred branding and colour scheme.
